Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipsticks Swatches

These are Maybelline's most moisturizing lipstick. You don't need to apply chapstick underneath these lipsticks. They also contain SPF ingredients that protect your lips from UV rays. Even though these lipsticks provide the most moisture, I only own three of them because I don't like the majority of colors that this line offers. Most of them are bright reds, plums, and shimmery copper/browns. I'm into real nudes & pale pinks so I have Nude Blush, Windsor Rose, and Sugar Plum Ice.

Nude Blush: Not really a real nude color but a soft and wearable pinky-brown that is a MLBB (my lips but better) color. My favourite! This is my second tube. It has no shimmer and is very pigmented.

Windsor Rose: Blue-pink color with no shimmer. I dab this color on top of GOSH's darling and it's absolutely soft and dolly.

Sugar Plum Ice: Lustre, Pale, Peachy-Pink with silver shimmer. This is really cute. A little goes a long way though. I applied too much of this at one time and ended up looking like the Tin Man's girlfriend. Silver clashes with warm skin tones so use it sparingly folks.

Overall, I highly recommend these lipsticks because I believe they are the best in the drugstore department. I only wish they had more colors that I like. I also forgot to mention that they are very cheap! I bought all of mine for $3 CAD on sale. It's a STEAL! :)

PRETTY IN PINK: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks Swatches

I actually already review these lipsticks here. They are creamy, pigmented, and last for a good amount of time. For those of you who claim that they smell like playdough most likely got a bad tube because all of mine smell like coconut and are very smooth in consistency. How did I come to this conclusion? Well, I bought Nearly There and returned it because it smelled like playdough and was hard and rubbery upon application! It was probably sitting on the shelf for a while.

The pinks and neutrals from this line goes great with my skin tone (tanned/olive complexion) and here are some swatches for your viewing pleasure.

Born With It: My favourite. A lustre pale pink so it is somewhat sheer and shimmery on my lips. Nonetheless, it is soft and really pretty.

Pink Please: Pale blue-pink with no shimmer. Some might say that this particular color is over-rated. It's also a hit or miss depending on your skin tone. When I first put it on my lip, I thought it was way too pinky but it grew on me and now I love it!

Plaza Pink: Plummy blue-pink with no shimmer. This is a nice darker color that is more mature in my opinion.

Warm Me Up: This pink is classified as one of their Neutral colors. It's almost like Plaza Pink but with less of a blue tint and more of a brown-earthy undertone.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase because I wear these lippies all the time :)

REVIEW & SWATCHES: Revlon Lippies

Revlon Matte Lipsticks

(L-R) Nude Attitude, Pink Pout, Mauve it Over, Pink About It.

Color description according to Nee.
Nude Attitude: Peachy Nude with orange undertone
Pink Pout: Cool pale blue-pink
Mauve it Over: I always thought mauve was more of a greyish purple/pink color but the color of this lipstick is more of a muted pinky-brown. None of the less, this is my fav out of the bunch!
Pink About It: Bright watermelon red. Think 60's!

Overall Rating: 3/5 (in general)
Price:
$5-$8 CAD
Packaging: Sleek and practical!
Would you buy this again? I would only buy Mauve it Over again. The rest I can pass.

I'm sure you've heard all about the Revlon Matte Lipsticks already. Everyone has either tried Nude Attitude or Pink Pout-- a nude shade and a baby pink shade, how can one go wrong?

Well, here's my two cents on these lipsticks. The paler the lipstick, the more drying it is. Nude Attitude is unbelieving drying.. if you don't exfoliate or apply lip balm before putting these babies on, be prepared for nasty flaky lips! If you are one of the smart girls who did do this, you won't have any problems with these lipsticks. Top it off with some gloss and you're good to go! Btw, I'm one of the smart girls ;) Pics below to prove it!

Before:
After:
Top Row: Nude Attitude, Pink Pout
Bottom Row: Mauve it Over, Pink About It

One thing I love about these lipsticks is the pigmentation. I have super pigmented lips (brownish-pink) and these lipsticks are pigmented enough to provide an opaque application. Mauve it Over is my favorite because it gives me a "my lips but better" color and it's a great everyday lipstick paired with black eyeliner. It's moisturizing compared to Nude Attitude and Pink Pout. Pink About It is the creamiest which is a shame since I would never wear it out in public. It clashes with my skin tone!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss

(L-R) Nude Lustre, Life's a Peach, Pink Whisper, Pink Pursuit, Cherries in the Glow

Overall Rating: 5/5 (in general)
Price:
$4-$8 CAD
Packaging: 5/5
Would you buy this again? Yes!

I've mentioned these before on my blog but never got around to swatching them. They are hands down the best drugstore lipsticks in my opinion. I love the color selection, the pigmentation, and the pretty sturdy packaging-- it has a twist click cap so you'll never have to worry about lipgloss leaking in your purse! I like CoverGirl Wetslicks Amazemint lipglosses too but the packaging is cheap and prone to product oozing. Below are swatches for your viewing pleasure :D

(L-R) Nude Lustre, Life's a Peach, Pink Whisper, Pink Pursuit, Cherries in the Glow

As you can see, they are thick! However, they are not that sticky and they go beautifully on top of the Revlon Matte Lipsticks. I used to pair Nude Attitude with Life's a Peach all the time before I started buying lipsticks. They all have shimmers in them (not chunky glitter that you can feel on your lips!) except for Cherries in the Glow which is just an opaque red color.

These are the only Revlon lippies I have. Actually, I had one super lustrous lipstick in Just Enough Buff but I threw it out to make space. It had no pigmentation and was hard as a rock. I tried to make it work but it proved to be unworthy. I didn't like any of the other colors I saw either.. do you have any recommendations?

Overall: 5 out of 5
Packaging:5 out of 5
Price: $5
Would you buy this again? Yes!

When I saw the purple metallic casing I just had to get it. I picked up Nude Delight for about $5 CAD and couldn't be happier. This is my new favourite nudey at the moment because it feels like lip balm but is opaque enough to show up on my pigmented lips. It's very moisturizing like the regular line but it doesn't smell like bubblegum-- something I liked a lot about the Lasting Finish Wear lipsticks in the burgundy tubes. It glides on like a dream and the color is the perfect nude for me that doesn't wash me out like NYX's Circe. It's not over drying either like Revlon matte lipstick in Nude Attitude but it possesses the same peachy beige color (more pinky undertones though) with very subtle shimmer. Pick this up immediately, you won't be sorry. =)

nude delight, nude attitude, circe

Nude Delight on my lips. You can see my natural lip color on the corner of my lips heh

REVIEW: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Warm Me Up

The Claim: "Crisper color from pure pigments. Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar. Lipcolor so rich, so stunning… it’s sensational. "

Overall: 4 out of 5
Packaging: 3 out of 5
Price: $8-10
Would you buy this again? If it were on sale, yes.

My favorite Maybelline lipstick is a color called Nude Blush from the Moisture Extreme line. It's an opaque nudey pink color that suits my skin tone naturally and feels very moisturizing on my lips. I compared this lipstick to Warm Me Up and these are the conclusions that I've drawn.

In terms of color, i prefer Nude Blush. Warm Me Up is bit of a brownish pinky mauve... a bit too earthy for my taste. The Color sensational smells like coconut whereas Moisture Extremes smell like Nair's Hair Removal Cream, something i don't particularly fancy. Both Lipsticks are moisturizing but Nude Blush is a lot more creamier.

Staying power is average and there is no need to line your lips with this lipstick because the color will not bleed pass your lips as it is thick in consistency. I really detest the tube because it's long and that makes removing the cap off a little bit of a hassle. I'm just not used to it. Despite that, it's worth a try.

Warm me up shows up really blue-pink with flash. In real life, it's more of a brownish pink.

My lips are pretty pigmented and both colors showed up very well.
